Nepal, Langtang and Helambu

Outstanding trekking through two totally different valleys

Nepal is a medieval enclave, isolated from the rest of the world by the mighty mountains of the Himalayas. This trip takes you to the Kathmandu Valley, the heart of Nepal with its magnificent royal cities. But not for long. The purpose of the trip is a lodge trek that leads you through three Himalayan regions, which are all very different. The Langtang Valley is a national park with a narrow, wooded valley that becomes larger and more sparse as you pass through it. The path is often marked by prayer flags and mani stone walls. The views of the snowcapped Himalayan giants are phenomenal! Gosainkund sits between 4000 and 4600 meters. It offers breathtaking views, sacred lakes, snow and rocks. Helambu is inhabited by Sherpas, with pretty villages and farmland on terraces picturesquely spread out over the hills. The landscapes are extremely varied.
Nepal, Langtang and Helambu
  • • Kathmandu Just outside Kathmandu are the stupas and Bodnath Swayambunath, where believers mumble the mantra 'om mani padme hum' and the prayer wheels roll. «
  • • Laurabina Pass Then you reach the highest point of the trek, the Laurabina Pass (4610 m). It is staggeringly beautiful and you seem to transcend the world! «
  • • Langtang valley Slowly the Langtang Valley becomes flatter and wider. Here the first yaks are grazing in the village of Langtang. Prayer flags and prayer stone walls mark out the route. «
  • • Valleys and peaks! From a ridge you can see the valleys and snowy peaks of the Himalayas. You walk through enchanting forests and along an intensely blue river. «
  • • Dhunche Time for adventure! Dhunche is the start for the beautiful rugged trek into the Langtang valley, inhabited by Tibetans and Tamang. «
  • • Helambu Helambu is an area with a predominantly Hindu population. From Chisopani (2149 m) there are stupendous views as far as Mount Everest. «
