pyramids, oases, feluccas and coral

This special trip will introduce you to the serene beauty of remote green oases and to the freakish limestone ‘mushrooms’ of the White Desert. It will take you sailing on a felucca along the Nile and past quiet Nubian settlements. It will give you a stop-off at the ancient treasures of Aswan and Luxor. And, finally, it will take you to the shores of the Red Sea which are internationally renowned for diving and snorkelling.

  • • Cairo Cairo, where modern skyscrapers stand side-by-side with centuries-old structures. You’ll visit the old town, the ‘citadel’, the splendid Khan al-Khalili market and the Egyptian Museum. Or you can take an optional one-day excursion to the famous pyramids. «
  • • Treasures of Luxor Luxor offers the most magnificent cultural highlights of the entire tour. Visit the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Temple of Karnak. Explore the desert on the back of a beautiful Arabian horse. «
  • • Oases and Middle Ages Visit lush oases, see enormous white limestone ‘mushrooms’, sleep beneath starry skies surrounded by sand dunes and visit the ancient village of Qsar that will take you back to the Middle Ages with its narrow alleys, mud brick huts and traditionally dressed locals. «
  • • Banks of the Nile Take a relaxing boat-trip around small and overgrown papyrus islands that accommodate a vast bird population, visit a primitive Nubian village and enjoy an excursion to the gigantic dam at Lake Nasser and the famous Philae Temple. «
  • • Aboard a felucca Visit the famous Abu Simbel Temple and sail down the Nile aboard a traditional felucca as you watch the sand dunes and small Nubian settlements drift by. «
  • • Red Sea Visit Sharm el-Naga, a ‘beach camp’ near Hurghada and dive or snorkel in the Red Sea’s azure-blue underwater paradise and laze under the palms. «
