Adventurous Egypt

joining nomads around the campfire

The gateway to Africa is a rare combination of the world’s most impressive historic monuments, colourful inhabitants and wonderful climate. Here you will explore Cairo’s bazaars, Nubic settlements, pyramids, pharaohs’ graves, ancient temples and the shores of the Nile, overgrown with date palms. However, our adventurous trip through the great sand sea oases of the Western Sahara desert in Egypt, beats it all.
Adventurous Egypt
  • • Cairo Cairo, where modern skyscrapers stand side-by-side with centuries-old structures. You’ll visit the old town, the ‘citadel’, the splendid Khan al-Khalili market and the Egyptian Museum. Or you can take an optional one-day excursion to the famous pyramids. «
  • • Ancient graves and obelisks Visit the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Temple of Karnak, hire a beautiful Arabian horse and take an exploratory ride into the desert. «
  • • Into the Western Desert We’ll visit a natural hot spring and see the unique Crystal Mountain, a small hill that sparkles like crystal due to its countless shards of quartz. We’ll see enormous white limestone ‘mushrooms’, the Dakhla Oasis and spend the night surrounded by sand dunes. «
  • • Banks of the Nile Take a relaxing boat-trip around small and overgrown papyrus islands that accommodate a vast bird population, visit a primitive Nubian village and enjoy an excursion to the gigantic dam at Lake Nasser and the famous Philae Temple. «
  • • Camp of Bedouins See some of the most spectacular sand-dunes. The Bedouins will build our camp and, after a delicious meal, we’ll stay overnight in the dunes near Kharga. «
  • • Hop on a felucca Visit the famous Abu Simbel Temple and sail down the Nile aboard a traditional felucca as you watch the sand dunes and small Nubian settlements drift by. «
